Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
At first, it was a little overwhelming — 351 communities coming together in the city of Boston — but probably within the first hour, connections were made and people certainly made me feel very comfortable, especially the staff. They make sure that you get to know a few of them, and they make some introductions, and you go from there.
Municipal government is a great place to work! Cities and towns deliver a wide range of essential, quality-of-life services directly to residents: education, public safety, public works, libraries and much more. Municipalities offer a safe and stable work environment and great benefits. If you want to do work that really matters, local government may be the place for you!
