Municipal leaders interested in learning more about making events and meetings accessible to the public can join a free webinar on Aug. 27 hosted by the Massachusetts Office on Disability.

The “Quarterly Tea With MOD: Hosting Accessible Events and Meetings” webinar will help state and local government entities, event planners and public venues improve accessibility for their in-person, hybrid and virtual gatherings.

The webinar, to be held from 1 to 3 p.m., will cover the following:
• Legal obligations for making events and meetings accessible
• How to select accessible event locations and online meeting platforms
• Best practices for fulfilling reasonable accommodation requests
• Tips for effective communication at events and meetings (including CART and ASL)

The webinar will include a question-and-answer session.
