Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
City and town officials who have questions about billboards and other signs in their communities are invited to contact the Office of Outdoor Advertising.
The office, previously known as the Outdoor Advertising Board, is responsible for regulating billboards and other signage.
Cities and towns can benefit from assistance with taking inventory of the billboards within their borders and ensuring that they are properly permitted, according to Edward Farley, director of the Office of Outdoor Advertising.
Local officials with questions about signage are encouraged to call Farley at (617) 973-8470. An e-mail address that local officials can use for queries will be posted soon on the office’s website (www.mhd.state.ma.us/oad).
