The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is preparing the next five-year capital plan, which will guide investments in the state’s transportation system between 2020 and 2024.

The Capital Investment Plan determines how the state prioritizes and funds its investments in all transportation projects – everything from highway and municipal projects to regional airports, rail and transit, and bicycle and pedestrian projects across the Commonwealth.

MassDOT is seeking input about priorities for transportation projects, both local and statewide. Residents and local officials can tell the department how it can improve the state’s transportation systems, enhance transportation capacity where needed, and build new projects to help communities prosper and get residents where they need to go.

MassDOT representatives will provide an overview of the draft 2020-2024 CIP, discuss how to get involved at the local and state level, and record input about transportation needs and capital priorities.
