The Lawrence Library seeks an energetic part-time assistant to provide outstanding customer service to its patrons. Ability and enthusiasm for multi-tasking and adapting to new technologies and services a must. Will collaborate with the Youth Services Librarian to bring exciting programs, events, and activities to life for children and their families, while also supporting the daily operations of the Youth Services department.
Creativity and a knack for designing fun, inventive programs are essential. May include story times, book discussions, craft programs, summer reading events, etc. Actively participates in staff development and training opportunities when appropriate and embraces opportunities to learn in a changing environment. Circulation desk coverage as needed.
Tuesday & Thursday 3:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday 2-8 p.m., three Saturdays per month 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for an average of 19 hours/week.
Education: bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience to include working with children and strong knowledge of children’s and young adult literature.
