Under the general supervision of the Town Engineer, the Resident Engineer performs routine and complex technical engineering-related work on a variety of public works projects and programs, including significant amounts of field inspections.
Essential job functions include assisting in the preparation of engineering designs, estimates, and specifications; evaluating plans for conformance with federal, state, and local regulations in support of boards, committees and commissions; and assisting in department operational activities as needed. This position will have a focus on transportation and traffic related projects, with a secondary focus on trails and stormwater projects.
Position requires qualifications equivalent to bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field and up to five years’ experience. A valid driver’s license and the ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions is required. FE/ EIT preferred.
Starting salary range: $78,756.44 to $89,918.26. Standard schedule: Monday-Friday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., with occasional night meetings.
