Regional Community Health & Wellness Coordinator
The town of Westford Health Department is seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates for a full-time Regional Community Health and Wellness Coordinator. This position is grant funded and will serve the communities of Westford, Acton, Lowell, & Dracut. This position functions in a busy and fast-paced environment.
This is a full-time position that works in four communities and is part of the Westford, Acton, Lowell, Dracut Collaborative. The Community Health Coordinator is a Shared Services, grant-funded position that has overall responsibility to develop up to date and innovative programing which will focus on the wellbeing of Westford, Acton, Lowell & Dracut residents in times of crisis, with respect to substance use disorder, mental health, stressors, interventions, and social service needs. Related work as required. Focus is on prevention, intervention services, health policy development, and community outreach. Travel is required with a personal vehicle. This is a grant-funded position and is subject to availability of funds.
Must have demonstrated professionalism, strong interpersonal and communication skills, written skills, understanding of confidentiality with residents. Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and schedules for multiple projects and assignments. Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and social media. Must be able to interpret and make appropriate decisions and exercise independent judgment. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain patient under stressful situations and work effectively with a diverse range of citizens throughout all four communities.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s/master’s degree in public health, social work, mental/behavioral health, area of substance abuse, and/or community health education.
– Social work license recommended.
– Two or more years of professional experience, ideally in public health or social services or an equivalent combination of education, experience, or training which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Excellent writing and public relations skills. Previous grant writing and coalition building experience required. Knowledge of local and state regulations and resources. The starting salary range is $75,000-$80,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
