The city of Watertown seeks a candidate to join the Senior Services Department (Council on Aging) as a Program Coordinator.
Under the general direction of the Senior Services Director, this position is responsible for the coordination and implementation of a variety of educational programs, wellness activities, special events and other related work for Department, Council on Aging/Senior Center, both on and off-site. They will supervise the day-to-day work of the Program Services Assistant. The successful candidate must be organized, detail-oriented and flexible, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fun, fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree in human services or related field, and a minimum of four years of experience working with older adults or in social services, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
HOURS: The work week is 37.5 hours (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m. -7 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).
SALARY: This is a union position with a starting salary of $70,951 annually. Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications and experience.
