The city of Watertown seeks a candidate for the Payroll Specialist in the City Auditor’s Office. This position is responsible in the administrative clerical duties pertaining to payroll functions and is responsible for the bi-weekly generating and processing of payroll for all city employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associate degree or equivalent two years in technical or business school; four to six years of payroll management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with MUNIS payroll preferred. Knowledge in computer software and systems such as Microsoft Office 365, MUNIS or related payroll software. Ability to organize and maintain records and strong written and oral communicate skills.
HOURS: The work week is 37.5 hours (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Tuesdays: 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.).
SALARY: This is a union position with a starting salary of $70,951 annually. Hiring above Step 1 is dependent on qualifications and experience.
