Position: Part-Time Police Dispatcher  

Duties: The purpose of this position is to receive police and other emergency service requests, obtain the service/incident information requirements in priority sequence, determine the appropriate response based upon standard operating and other procedures, dispatch the appropriate units, search for and provide additional necessary information and communication support services to responding units and caller as may be required. The position also provides administrative and information support services to the police department, sworn and other police department personnel and callers. A police dispatcher is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction and control. Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Dispatcher certification from the Association of Police Communication Officials (APCO) within one year of date of appointment.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, experience and training

Hours and salary:

  • This position is part-time nights/weekends and holidays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. and 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.
  • $25.00 per hour
  • Application will be accepted March 18

Securing this position will also be dependent on the results of a background investigation.
