Human Resources Director

The town of Dartmouth is seeking a highly responsible, experienced applicant to fill the Human Resources Director position. The Human Resources Director is responsible for performing professional and administrative work in administering the town’s personnel policies and programs, recruiting, overseeing the administration of the town’s benefits program, participating in the collective bargaining process, managing the professional development of town employees, ensuring compliance with state, federal, and local personnel laws and regulations, and counseling employees on a variety of human resource matters.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field; a master’s degree in human resources or public administration is highly desirable; five years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management; training and experience in municipal personnel administration highly preferred; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws: civil service; labor relations; compensation and benefits; employee classification; recruitment.

The annual salary range for this position is $85,035 – $110,551.
