The town of Weston (pop. 11,500) is seeking applications for the position of Public Works Deputy Director. The position assists the Department of Public Works Director in the performance of highly responsible and complex administrative, managerial, supervisory and professional work in the Highway, Cemetery, Parks, Solid Waste, Recycling, Water and Stormwater operations. Assumes responsibility for DPW functions in the absence of the DPW Director. There are 34 full-time reports and a FY25 annual operating budget of $7.8 mil & capital budget of $4.9 mil. Minimum high school graduate with additional technical, crafts or construction education or certification or associate degree in related field, with seven to ten years of experience in highway, cemetery, parks, water/utilities, construction, public works or related filed, at least three years of supervisory and management responsibility or ten years construction and project management experience; water systems management experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must possess proven experience providing optimum public service and solving citizen complaints; as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Hiring range is $114,597 – $137,517 depending upon qualifications. FY25 max salary/pay grade range $160,437.
