The town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of Civil Engineer Technician for the Department of Public Works, Engineering Division.
Inspectional, technical, field survey, and office work associated with the construction, inspection and quality assurance of engineering elements of town projects; all other related work as required. Reviews applications with contractors and/or public for street openings and curb cuts. Responsible for permit tracking and oversight of contractors. Performs topographic surveys for the purpose of planning and designing remedies for drainage systems. Assists in the preparation of contract plans, updating the assessor’s maps and GIS utilities, maintaining office files, prepares record drawings, operates blueprint machine, indexes field notes, and records information from building permits.
High school graduate; minimum of five years of mathematics and its application in field surveying and related engineering computations; general knowledge of construction industry practices; knowledge of land surveying techniques and related engineering record requirements and computation practices. Massachusetts Class D driver’s license.
