The town of Swampscott is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Building Commissioner to oversee the enforcement of the Massachusetts State Building Code and related regulations, laws, and bylaws. This key position involves planning, organizing, and supervising the inspection of building, electrical, plumbing, gas, and mechanical systems. The Building Commissioner also serves as the town’s Zoning Enforcement Officer, interpreting and enforcing the town’s zoning bylaws. The position requires oversight of a department with a small team of employees, managing complex issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and building standards.
