The town of Bourne, an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer, has an opening for a full-time Assistant Town Planner. This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to the Town Planner in carrying out a wide range of duties and responsibilities for the Planning Department in the areas of: zoning and preexisting non-conformities, subdivision control, site plan review, GIS, and affordable housing. Attendance at numerous public meetings is expected, including: Planning Board, Design Review Committee, Affordable Housing Trust and the Historical Commission.
Qualifications and education:
A bachelor’s degree in municipal or regional planning or closely related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience. At least two years of employment experience. Preferred candidate has a minimum of two years of Massachusetts municipal planning experience.
Full/part-time and hours:
Full-time position (35 hours/week).
Salary:
Starting at $62,826/year.
Salary notes:
This is a benefited position with health, dental, vision, life, PTO will be accrued at a 35-hour/week rate, and a retirement pension.
