The town of Ayer seeks a highly motivated individual to assist the town’s Director of Parks and Recreation with the administration, maintenance, and recreation programs of the town of Ayer’s parks, waterfront/beach, and all recreational facilities in the town. The Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation reports to the Director of Parks and Recreation and assists the Director with all aspects and functions of the Parks and Recreation department to include the management of the department and all related recreational programs; parks facilities and athletic structures. Minimum qualifications are a bachelor’s degree preferred in a related recreational or business management field; plus at least three years of progressively responsible experience in the field of parks and recreation and/or turf management; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid motor vehicle license; pass CORI check; and ability to acquire lifeguard certification within six months of hire. Hoisting license is desirable.
Full-time, salaried position with weekend and evening requirements. Salary range: $56,701 to $59,571 DOQ. Excellent municipal benefits package including health benefits.
