The town of Littleton is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time 40-hour/week Assistant Conservation Agent in the Conservation department. Responsibilities include assisting the Conservation Agent in administering the Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act, Littleton Wetlands Protection Bylaw and managing the town’s Conservation Lands. Tasks would include providing administrative and fieldwork support and assisting implementation of the Clean Lakes Committee initiatives, receiving applications, preparing permits, conducting site walks and coordinating with the public and other town departments. Occasional night meetings or evening /weekend site walks may be required.

Successful candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, land management or related field; two years’ experience in an associated field. Experience in implementing, administering and enforcing the Wetlands Protection Act is highly desirable, or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Position will be subject to a thorough background check including drug and alcohol testing and a physical. Completion of MACC Fundamentals classes desirable.
The starting pay rate is $30.33 – $31.87/hour, commensurate with experience. This is a nonexempt benefits eligible position governed by the Personnel ByLaw and Employee Handbook.
