The 22nd Annual Municipal Law Conference, co-sponsored by the Massachusetts Municipal Lawyers Association and the MMA, will be held on May 22.

The conference provides updates and the latest developments from the Legislature, government regulators, and the courts. The accelerating rate of change in municipal law makes this conference valuable to those who work in and with the public sector.

The agenda includes updates on the open meeting and public records laws as well as ethics and conflicts of interest. An environmental law update will focus on U.S. Supreme Court decisions.

The featured presentation will be “Perspectives from a Career in Municipal Law,” led by attorney Henry Luthin.

Afternoon updates will cover cannabis, employment law, recently enacted and pending legislation, land use and zoning (including MBTA Communities, accessory dwelling units and housing), and elections (problems to avoid).

The day-long conference will conclude with a review of key takeaways and an “Ask the Experts” Q&A session.

The in-person conference will be held at the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Conference Center, 10 Winter Place (via Winter Street), in Boston, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A live webcast will also be available, and rebroadcasts will be held on June 6 and 14.

Tuition, including written materials, is $275, or $247.50 for MCLE members, or $137.50 for new lawyers admitted to law practice within five years, pending admittees, law students, and paralegals, or free for MCLE OnlinePass subscribers.
