The MMA has begun gathering updated information from municipalities for the 2018-2019 edition of the Massachusetts Municipal Directory.

The chief municipal official in each Massachusetts city and town received a letter in April alerting them that the process is underway. The letters explain when to expect an email with a link, username and password to be used for updating community information in a convenient online tool.

The online form is pre-populated with the personnel information currently on file with the MMA and only takes a few minutes to update by the person most familiar with a city or town’s personnel.

The MMA is aware that officials might see some out-of-date information this year as the project transitions to a new, improved process that will result in much more accurate community listings this year and into the future. The cooperation of local officials is greatly appreciated.

Towns will receive the email with the link to the online form within weeks of their spring election. Cities should have received the email on April 30.

The MMA’s annual directory includes listings of local officials and contact information, as well as demographic and financial data, for all of the state’s cities and towns. There are also sections devoted to regional school districts, state and federal government agencies, and relevant professional organizations, as well as a guide to products and services for municipalities.

The new edition of the directory will be published in August.
