The 2013 Transportation Finance Act and project selection criteria will be discussed at a half-day forum on July 16 at Northeastern University in Boston.

“Measuring Up: More Bang for the Buck in Transportation Project Selection” is co-sponsored by Transportation for Massachusetts and Transportation for America.

The federal Transportation Finance Act, according to the advocacy organizations, combines new funding with policy goals such as ensuring that the process of selecting projects is transparent. The law makes policy recommendations such as the creation of data-driven project selection criteria.

The free forum is designed for officials with transportation project selection responsibility as well as others in the field. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the Dukakis Center for Urban and Regional Planning at 360 Huntington Ave.

Space is limited. To register, go to http://is.gd/measuringup.
