The town of Dover, a friendly community with a population of 6,200, is excited to announce an opportunity for a Town Planner! Working closely with the town’s Planning Board, this position plays a key role in shaping our community by offering valuable insights, organization, analysis, and coordination.

As the Town Planner, you will be responsible for making professional recommendations and providing guidance to the Planning Board and other town officials regarding land use decisions, planning, community development, land use permitting, open space, economic development, bylaw development, and housing initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a master’s degree in planning, public administration, or a related field, along with five years of experience in municipal or regional planning. However, we understand that individual journeys can vary, so an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is also welcome.

The anticipated hiring range for this position in FY26 (effective July 1, 2025) is $96,652 to  $108,178 with a full hiring range to $122,584 depending on your qualifications.
