Come join our dynamic team! The city of Newton is seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Senior Assistant City Solicitor for Labor and Employment. The purpose of this position is to serve as the chief of the Law department’s Labor and Employment practice group; provides legal advice, risk management and compliance strategy to city departments in all matters related to public sector employment matters, workplace initiatives, problem-solving, and planning; negotiates, interprets, and enforces collective bargaining agreements with the city’s nine collective bargaining units; serves as the lead negotiator and representative for the city; and all other related work as required and directed. This is a full-time, exempt position, hiring salary range: $127,024 – $136,841 annually plus yearly step increases, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of our team of dedicated public servants.
