Assistant Town Engineer

The town of Reading is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Town Engineer in the Department Public Works.

Performs complex and professional engineering work in the provision of office and engineering support and field engineering support for environmental, water, sewer, roads, and other public works projects and programs ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes and criteria; serves as a project manager.

Expected Hiring Range: $41.68-$45.51 per hour

Different title/pay scale shall be applied contingent upon experience/licensure (Civil Engineer III, Senior Civil Engineer)

Minimum Qualifications

1. Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor of science (B.S.) degree in civil engineering or a closely related program; and
2. Minimum of ten years previous professional civil engineering experience; and
3. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.)
