The town of Marion seeks qualified applicants for a 31 hour/week Health Agent position. Under the general supervision of the Public Health Director and the Board of Health, this position performs field inspections and plan reviews to ensure compliance with and enforcement of the State Sanitary and Environmental Codes, and all other related federal, state, and town laws, bylaws and regulations. Knowledge of Alternative systems approved by Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection to enhance or provide removal of nitrogen preferred. Minimum qualifications: bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related discipline and one to three years of experience in an environmental and/or health related field, along with experience conducting inspections including but not limited to food establishments, nuisance complaints, housing, pools, camps, and septic systems. Registered Sanitarian or Registered Environmental Health Specialist or the ability to be academically qualified to take the certification within two years of appointment preferred. Soil Evaluator License and Title 5 Systems Inspector license preferred. Pay Rate $31.00 + DOQ.
