The city of Watertown is seeking an Administrative Specialist – Permit Administration who will provide administrative, clerical, and customer service duties to assist in the operation of the Inspectional Services Division (ISD) within the Department of Community Development & Planning.
Duties include but are not limited to: providing customer service both in-person and on the phone, maintaining Building Division records, receiving permitting applications, drafting correspondence, utilizing OpenGov and assisting in inspection coordination, and general administrative support of the Inspectional Services team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree or two years of technical or business school and one to three years’ work experience, preferably in a customer service-oriented role. Excellent customer service, multi-tasking, and organizational skills are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with database management software are strongly preferred.
TERMS/HOURS: This is a 37.5 hour per week position. The hours for the Inspectional Services
Division are as follows: Monday: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m., Tuesday: 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., Wednesday: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.,
Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
SALARY: This is a union position with a Grade 3-Step 1 rate of $57,513. Hiring above Step 1 is
dependent on qualifications and experience.
