Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
Municipal governments and other entities that accepted payments through Visa or Mastercard between 2004 and 2019 are eligible to file claims under a $5.5 billion settlement of a class action lawsuit.
The settlement resulted from allegations that the credit card companies charged excessive fees and, together with their respective member banks, violated the antitrust laws.
The Payment Card Interchange Fee Settlement is for those that directly accepted payments from any Visa-branded cards and/or Mastercard-branded cards between Jan. 1, 2004, and Jan. 25, 2019.
The claims deadline is Feb. 4.
