Danvers (27,896 pop.), is seeking a transparent municipal leader with superior communication and personnel skills to serve as its Town Manager. The Town Manager must be able to balance development without changing the character of the town, willingly listen to the needs of residents, and foster engagement through community events and activities. Danvers is a family-friendly, civic-minded community, located on the North Shore just 17 miles north of Boston. A residential community at heart, Danvers has a strong commercial base with a variety of suburban conveniences and services. Danvers has Select Board-Town Manager form of government with representative Town Meeting, a AAA rating, and Fiscal 25 general fund budget of $125.35M. Preferred candidates will have an advanced degree, preferably in public administration or a related field. Preferred candidates must be eager to engage and interact with the community, support civic involvement and build community pride, be transparent, an effective communicator, and a consensus builder. Preferred candidates must offer principled, visionary leadership; be proficient in municipal financial management, budgeting, and long-term planning; and foster a positive inclusive organizational culture.
Annual salary: $220K+/- DOQ. EOE.
