The Longmeadow Finance Department is seeking a part-time Treasurer Collector Specialist: 34 hours per week. This position is responsible for performing various types of skilled administrative and record keeping services in supporting the operations of the Treasurer/Collector Office, including receiving and processing payments for taxes.

Successful candidate must have:

  • Requires knowledge of Massachusetts laws relating to municipal finance. Requires general knowledge of town operations. Knowledge of cash management, account reconciliation, organization, self-direction, general accounting practices and principles, computer knowledge/skills-proficient use of Microsoft Office and Google Suites, Access, and financial software.
  • Requires the ability to keep accurate records and reports. Thorough knowledge of department specific application software. Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task. Ability to maintain good public relations and to maintain effective collaborative working relationships with town departments, department heads, fellow employees, officials and the general public and to respond in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Requires computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Requires excellent planning, time management and organizational skills. Strong customer service skills.

High school diploma, and three to five years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience.

  • Salary $23.66- $25.10 per hour DOE/DOQ
