The Director of Inspection Services is responsible for the overall management of operations for the Inspections Department, and performs supervisory, administrative and professional work in planning, organizing, and directing all department services and activities. Enforcement of all building, zoning, and environmental regulations and laws. Performs all other related work as required.

Qualifications
Education, training and experience: bachelor’s degree in the sciences or construction; five years of progressively responsible experience in public service, and five to 10 years of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Must meet the requirements of the Director of Public Commissioner of Buildings as applies. Knowledge, ability and skill: knowledge: general knowledge of the principles and practices of the building codes and local zoning codes. Public service department administration management knowledge. Working knowledge of computers and appropriate applications. Ability: ability to recognize priorities and work cooperatively with others. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with the general public, organizations, departments and officials. Ability of leadership, independent judgment, initiative and decision-making. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate effective department services. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to recognize priorities and decipher technical and legal documents. Skill: excellent planning and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer skills and budgetary skills; interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Report writing skills.
Salary: $3,603.34
