The city of Watertown seeks an individual who will be responsible for managing all skilled and technical work necessary in the operation of street striping, traffic sign installation, traffic signals and street light maintenance. Working under the general direction of the Superintendent of Public Works and City Engineer, the Supervisor of Traffic Control will supervise two union staff members and work closely with the Highway Supervisor and Wiring Supervisor.

Required minimum qualifications:
Seven to 10 years of experience in a related field or combination of education and experience. Knowledge of the requirements for work zone traffic control in roadway construction and maintenance operations. Sound understanding of safety standards. Knowledge of the role of traffic control devices in the effort to create and maintain a safe and efficient transportation system. Ability to design and fabricate traffic control signs; organize and direct work for traffic maintenance seasonal; and ability to operate a variety of vehicles and hand/power tools. Massachusetts CDL, Class B license, with air brakes endorsement, required.

Salary: this is a union position with a hiring range of $115,178-$124,672 dependent upon qualifications and education. This is a 40 hours per week position.
