Who is a member?
Our members are the local governments of Massachusetts and their elected and appointed leadership.
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection is inviting local officials to a webinar on Nov. 22 on the newly published Solid Waste Master Plan.
The 2030 Solid Waste Master Plan: Working Together Toward Zero Waste guides how Massachusetts will strive to manage our trash between now and 2030 — and beyond. The plan sets a waste reduction target of 30% by 2030 and 90% by 2050.
The webinar will cover the key points of the plan, as well as:
• How much trash do we create and what is in it?
• What are Massachusetts’ goals to reduce waste?
• What is Massachusetts planning to do to reduce our waste and recycle and compost more?
• What grant and assistance programs does the state offer for cities and towns and businesses?
• How can reuse, recycling and composting help grow jobs and businesses in Massachusetts?
There will be plenty of time for questions and answers at the end.
The one-hour Zoom webinar will begin at noon. Click here to register.
A confirmation email will contain information about joining the meeting.
The presentation will be recorded and shared online for viewing at a later date.
