Municipal Cybersecurity Forum set for June 23 in Holyoke

Municipal leaders who want to protect their communities from cyberattacks can learn about security strategies and preparedness plans at a training on June 23 in Holyoke.

The Municipal Cybersecurity Forum, offered by the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission, will feature training by Andrew Hildick-Smith, director of emergency planning and preparedness for the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, and Meg Speranza, resiliency program manager for the MassCyberCenter.

Attendees will hear about cyber-related problems that communities have encountered.

The training costs $100 for municipal employees, and $125 for private sector workers. People who attend the session can receive credits for six training contact hours (TCH).

The meeting will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Holyoke Community College.

The registration deadline is June 16, but early registration is encouraged, as spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
