DPW Foreman Position
The town of Holliston is seeking applicants for the Foreman position for the town of Holliston’s Department of Public Works.
Applicants must have the equivalent of completion of four years of high school and five years knowledge of the construction trades as they relate to road construction, maintenance and repair. Proficient in the area of roadway snow and ice control. Must know how to calculate asphalt and concrete quantities, figure grades for drainage, sidewalk and road projects. Have knowledge of Dig Safe and ADA regulations.
Applicant must also have a minimum of five years of experience in road construction, maintenance, repair and snow and ice control. Must have experience in calculating materials, figuring grades and reading blue prints for projects.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Class B MA Commercial Driver’s License and Class C hoisting license with restrictions no less than 2B and 4E and 4G.
The Forman will confer with the Deputy DPW Director to ensure proper and timely completion of assigned tasks and establish long range construction and maintenance/repair programs. Monitor condition of town’s roadway system, sidewalks and drainage system and recommend future construction/repair projects.
Prepare small construction, repair and maintenance estimates in support of budgetary operations. Operate snow and ice control equipment and upon request of the Deputy DPW Director assist with monitoring its operations. Must set up and operate all levels and transit equipment and calculate necessary measurements for projects as requested by the Deputy DPW Director.

This is a full-time, benefit-eligible union position classified as Grade L5, and is 40 hours per week. The starting salary range is L5, $31.27 – $32.99. The full range will be $31.27 – $39.21.
