The town of Plymouth seeks qualified applicants for the position of Director of Assessing in the Assessing Department. Anticipated date of vacancy – Dec. 30.
This position reports to the Director of Finance. Responsibilities include administrative, supervisory, and technical work relating to the management of tax assessment and the valuation and re-evaluation of residential, industrial, commercial, and personal property within the town of Plymouth in accordance with Massachusetts Department of Revenue regulations. Provides related financial information and analysis to the Town Manager, Select Board, and Town Meeting. Responsibilities are highly complex requiring considerable judgement. Must have strong management skills and organizational abilities. Responsible for maintaining high standards of customer service with excellent communication skills. Working knowledge of computer applications for assessing functions preferably the Patriot software applications. Ability to manage and train personnel and manage budget.
Associate’s degree (bachelor’s preferred) with courses in business, finance and property assessment and six years of real estate and personal property appraisal experience preferably in coastal communities. Certification as Massachusetts Accredited Assessor is required, as well as a valid Massachusetts Class D motor vehicle license.

Salary range: $93,897.44 to $117,218.92, 37.5 hours/week. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt. This job will remain open through Dec. 10.
