Welcome to the Seaport!

Boston Convention and Exhibition Center

Over the last decade, Boston’s Seaport District has evolved into a bustling neighborhood with offices, small businesses, residences, restaurants, bars, shopping, artist studios, indoor game spots, breweries, the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, and the Institute of Contemporary Art. There is plenty to be explored!

Getting around
The Seaport is easily navigable on foot, but also has Silver Line service, in addition to taxi and ride share services. The MBTA’s South Station is in walking distance, and the Massachusetts Turnpike provides driving access.

Eating and drinking
There’s a plethora of dining options that run the gamut from casual to fine dining to grab-and-go. Options closest to the BCEC include Dunkin’s, Starbucks, Jimmy John’s, M.J. O’Connor’s at the Westin, and Coquette and Cocorico at the Omni. (Click here for the Seaport District Dining and Entertainment Guide.)

Institute of Contemporary Art
A “museum at the intersection of contemporary art and civic life,” the ICA offers exhibitions, performances, and educational programs. Admission is free every Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.
